Dr. Peter Jepson-Young, a young Vancouver physician diagnosed with HIV/AIDS in 1985, started his two year, 111 video diary series on CBC to educate Canadians about people living with HIV.
Gay Games Ill are held in Vancouver. Approximately 7,300 athletes took part in 27 sports. Church members from Fraser Valley take out full page ads in The Sun and Province to condemn the games as proof of an 'impending sodomite invasion. As a result of these protests, Premier Bill Vander Zalm, refuses to fund the event.
